August 2013
Our August meeting was organised by the members and was a total surprise for the Committee. We were taken by car to Mill Farm Grasby, the home of Mike & Helen Boothman. They told us how they had bought the property in a very delapidated condition with no garden and over the last ten years they have made a beautiful home and a 31/2 acre garden with some fantastic panoramic views. The garden takes up every spare minute of their time and really is a labour of love. There are lots of different areas with shrubs, perennials, wildlife ponds, vegtable patch and fruit trees.
The garden is sometimes open for the National Gardens Scheme and if you have the opportunity to visit it is well worth it. To end the evening we were served with tea and home made cakes. |
