May 2019 - Resolutions
May saw our resolutions meeting take place. This year we discussed the "Don't Fear the Smear" campaign. As a group we were all extremely passionate about the cause and were all in agreement that not enough was being done to take the campaign to young women. We felt that social media could do more to get this message across, as well as colleges and schools. A number of ladies have expressed an interest in manning a stand at the local supermarket to help.
The second discussion of the evening was The Decline of Rural Bus Services. Views were a little more divided on this matter. Broadly it is acknowledged that additional bus services would provide community benefits, however concerns were raised about where money would come from for the subsides on which rural buses rely.
Both campaigns were voted on and Margaret will take them to the national AGM in June as our delegate.
