BADGERS John Hankinson visited us to talk about Badgers. He is a member of the Lincolnshire Badger Group. He talked about the European Badger. The only natural enemy Badgers have is man. They have very poor eyesight but an extremely good sense of smell and hearing. Their diet consists of mainly worms, around 49%, and they also eat fallen fruit. The young are born around February/March time. In this area historical records show that there has been a badger set around the area of Burton Stather since 1890. If you find a dead badger either on the roadside or in woods please help the group by notifying them. For more information visit their webpage by searing http://weirfield.co.uk/lincsbadgergroup. There is a form to download or mail to them to record whereabouts the badger was found. Be careful if you fnd one injured as they can be very aggressive.
