5 members including the Delegate, Liz Nicholson, went to the Annual Federation Day on Saturday 1st April 2017 held at the Oasis Academy Wintringham, Grimsby. It was Liz's first visit to an annual federation meeting and she said that she thoroughly enjoyed the day. She said that both the speakers were excellent. In the morning it was Dr. Nicola Crewe from Lincoln University who talked about forensic science. There were three songs from the Singstitute then the afternoon speaker was Julie Summers who wrote ‘Jambusters’, which was adapted for the TV series Home Fires. Pearl had won a raffle prize.
The Chairman’s challenge is for each WI to make a photo scrapbook of events during 2017 to celebrate 40 years as a Federation. There was also a photo competition which is to be included in the Federation Newsletter.
